The Nova Table is designed around a balance of structure, lightness, and adaptability. Every element works together to support both everyday dining and larger gatherings, while maintaining a clean visual presence in the room.
Floating Tabletop With a Light Visual Presence
The tabletop uses a 45-degree bevel along its edge, creating the impression of a thin, floating surface. This effect is emphasized by the contrast with the solid chevron base, making the top appear lighter than its actual size.
The bevel also creates a smooth surface along the edge, offering a more comfortable place to rest your arms while dining.
Rounded Corners for Easier Movement Around the Table
The tabletop features “squircle” corners that soften its overall shape. This helps the table feel more approachable in tighter spaces and makes it easier to move around, even when fully extended.
Seamless Surface From Small to Fully Extended
The engineered wood panels are designed for dimensional stability, helping the surface remain level and aligned as the table expands.
This ensures a smooth, consistent surface whether the table is set for 4 seats or extended for up to 10.
Chevron Base for Structure and Visual Balance
The chevron base acts as the structural anchor of the table. Made from solid Hevea wood, it provides visual weight that grounds the design and supports the large surface above.
At the same time, the open space within the chevron structure keeps the design from feeling overly heavy, helping maintain an airy overall look.
The angled form also improves legroom by allowing guests at the ends of the table to sit comfortably without obstruction.
Sculpted Joinery and Refined Structure
The inner sections of the chevron base feature softly rounded transitions rather than sharp joints. This creates a more refined, hand-finished feel while still maintaining the geometric structure of the design.
The two opposing chevron forms work together to create a balanced, symmetrical foundation that supports the tabletop while preserving an open visual flow.
